“Making a Difference in a Dog’s Life”

Holiday FurKid
Hello Bichon Lovers,

Welcome to our holiday newsletter and the last issue of 2016! How did that happen (already) and where did this year go?

Our cover article, written by a little bichon named Teddy, is one we hope you will read and ‘feel’ as we have. It talks about how life can change overnight as it did for this lucky little senior guy. He went from being wet and cold at the shelter, scared by the sounds and the environment itself, and into the loving arms of his Forever Mom. What warms us most is that there was this very special lady who was fearless about helping this senior, recognizing that however many years they have together, they will, indeed, have them together. We are so grateful for adopters like Lauren and hope that there are more “Laurens” in our community, as there are so MANY seniors in the shelters now – and it appears that rescue is the only way that they will leave the shelters.

Fundraising is key to our mission of saving lives – and our 2016 calendar is one of our favorite fundraisers and is now available to order. It makes a great stocking stuffer or a gift for under the tree (or menorah). The information is on page 6 so please place your order and we’ll hurry to get it to you. We also want to remind you to please indicate Bichon FurKids if you shop with Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.com) this holiday season and beyond! (Email us please if you need more info on how to sign up!) And if you are thinking about installing a dog door, please know that Hale Pet Door (halepetdoor.com) makes a donation to Bichon FurKids whenever you purchase a pet door.

We had a wonderful time at our latest Chicos Event on Nov. 13th. It was filled with furkids, fashion and fundraising. Some of our photos are captured on page 7 and the memories of that wonderful day will last for many years.

As we looked at the faces of some of the lucky furkids who were adopted this year, we wanted to share some of their photos. We hope that they make you smile (and see which ones look like your FurKids.)

Lastly, we are always looking for volunteers who know how to do graphic design (especially if you know Adobe Creative Suite) and those who like to take photos of FurKids. If you want to apply your talents, we would love to have your help! Please email marti@bichonfurkids.org and we’ll get started.

So please sit back and enjoy our newsletter. Click on the link below and read it online — or print it out for reading offline.
