“Making a Difference in a Dog’s Life”

Hello Bichon Lovers,

Welcome to our last newsletter of this year! It seems that we just started 2017 and now the holidays and year end are upon us.

Our cover page is a heartfelt THANK YOU note from me to all of you. It is always through the love, support and generosity of the Bichon FurKids community that all of us, as volunteers, take sustenance. Your support helps us over those bumpy roads and days when we ask ourselves,

“Now, what is it that we are doing – and why?” And it is your updates, photos and calls with happy news that get us through and over those bumpy times. Please KNOW that is what keeps us going!

We all love our little FurKids from the bottom of our hearts to the tips of our toes (or is it their paws?). And while all FurKids are special, sometimes life creates situations that make them more so. It may be the role they play in our lives or some medical condition or situation in which they find themselves. Annie was certainly loved and adored by her Mom and Dad. Her very special story, and their tribute to her, appears on page 2.

Our next article was written by a volunteer transporter who found herself becoming an adopter (with some help from a precious FurKid). We hope you will enjoy the story, and the surprise that took place as a result of that very special transport. (Look closely at the photos and see if you can tell who is who.)

The goal for BFK is to always keep our FurKids safe! As we move our pups from place to place (vets, groomers and foster homes) we always rely on the loving help of our volunteer drivers. If you can help, please let us know. You can email and I will put you in touch with our amazing Transportation Coordinator.

As we near the end of 2017 and look forward to what we hope will be a happy, healthy and exciting 2018, please consider buying BFK calendars for your family and friends. They are truly beautiful and will make you smile as you see all the photos of happy bichons (and silly bichons, active bichons, mellow bichons and playful bichons!) You can order your calendar online from our Donations page and can click on the link on page 6.

With holiday celebrations there is a lot more going on. Please keep close tabs on your pups, have a joyous time and stay in touch Remember, it is your photos and updates that keep us going and we really DO want to hear from you!

So please sit back and enjoy our newsletter. Click on the link below and read it online — or print it out for reading offline.
